INSERT is a self-supporting unit of the Union professionnelle des Entreprises d'Assurance in Belgium and organises since 1965 particular trainings for the personnel of insurance companies, as well as for other companies and persons interested in these trainings for which there is a need in the sector, technical trainings in insurance and management skills and language courses (with insurance vocabulary as the main point of interest). These trainings are offered "ready made" but also, if necessary, "tailor made" on behalf of the different insurance companies and/or other interested parties.

Within the framework of the legislation on insurance distribution, INSERT is recognised by the Belgian control authority of the insurance industry to organise technical trainings in insurance. After having passed the exam the INSERT delivers a certificate that is necessary in Belgium to get access to the profession of insurance intermediary.

As a private institute, INSERT is not recognised by the State and does not receive any financial support. The certificates delivered for other trainings than those mentioned earlier, do not have any legal value. In the insurance environment however, these courses are considered at their right value, mainly owing this to their practical character. Most of the courses are given by specialists of insurance companies who, besides their theoretical knowledge, can also pass their "experience on the field" on to the students.

On year basis INSERT organises about 770 training days for about 3000 participants. The actions are all animated by free lance trainers out of insurance companies or consultants. A staff of 5 persons is permanently taking care of the organisation of these trainings.
